1. Information We Collect

We collect your email address when you create an account. DivDip uses magic link authentication — no password is required or stored. We also collect billing information through Stripe, though we never store your full card details — those are handled entirely by Stripe. We collect your digest preferences, timezone settings, and dividend alert preferences. If you choose to use our tax screening features, we collect the tax profile you provide (filing status, income bracket, account types, and state of residence). If you upload a portfolio via CSV, we store your holdings data to power personalized digests and tax screening.

What We Refuse to Store

Most services collect everything they can. DivDip does the opposite — we actively refuse to store information we don't need, even when you hand it to us in a CSV upload.

When you upload a brokerage CSV, our parser automatically strips out and discards the following before anything touches our database:

• Account numbers — we never store your brokerage account number, even if it appears in the CSV
• Account holder names — whose name is on the account is not our business
• Social Security numbers or tax IDs — not needed, never accepted
• Broker login credentials — we don't use them, we never want them
• Routing numbers, bank info, wire details — not a financial institution, not needed
• Options contracts, futures positions, or cryptocurrency holdings — we only track dividend-paying securities

We keep exactly what DivDip needs to run: ticker, share count, cost basis, purchase date, brokerage name, and account type (taxable vs IRA etc). Nothing else.

We don't sell your data. We don't share your holdings. We don't train AI on your portfolio. We don't rent your information to anyone, for any price, under any circumstance.

Margin Position Data

If you hold positions on margin (stocks, options contracts, or anything else) and upload a brokerage CSV, DivDip's margin debt calculator needs to know the minimum data required to calculate how much monthly interest that margin debt is generating. For non-dividend margin positions specifically, we store only: ticker, share count, position value at upload, and the margin flag.

These non-dividend margin positions never appear on your dashboard, in your holdings view, in digests, or anywhere else in the product. They exist in the database solely to feed the margin debt calculator, which is a Legacy-tier feature. If you cancel your Legacy subscription, this data is deleted along with the rest of your holdings via our standard account-deletion procedure.

If you hold non-dividend positions in a cash account (not on margin), we don't store anything about them — they're filtered out at upload time.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your email to send you account notifications and your daily CEF alert digests. We use your billing information to process subscription payments. Your tax profile and uploaded portfolio holdings are used solely to power the personalized digest and tax screening features within your account — this data is never shared, sold, or used for any other purpose.

No Sale of Personal Data

DivDip will never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties under any circumstances.

3. Data Storage

Your account data is stored securely in Supabase. Payment data is handled by Stripe. Email delivery is handled by Resend. All providers maintain their own security and privacy standards.

4. Security Logging

We log account activity for security purposes, including login events, holdings uploads, plan changes, and account deletions. These logs are retained for 12 months and are used solely for security monitoring and incident investigation. They are never shared with third parties.

5. Cookies

DivDip uses cookies solely for authentication purposes to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Third Party Services

We use the following third party services: Stripe for payments, Supabase for database and authentication, Resend for email delivery, and Polygon.io for market data. Each has their own privacy policy.

7. Your Rights

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time by visiting Settings and selecting Delete Account. Deletion is processed immediately and automatically. You may also request deletion by emailing hello@divdip.com and we will process your request within 30 days.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email.
